About

Kareen Scott Founder

Meet The Founder Kareen Scott

About the Founder — Kareen T. Scott

Kareen T. Scott is the Founder & Principal Consultant of Claim Care Solutions (CCS). She is the Revenue & Operations Strategist for Medical & Behavioral Health Organizations. With 24+ years of experience across healthcare operations, billing start-up, fiscal management, contract management and compliance, she helps organizations build clinic-real revenue systems that align leadership decisions with how clinics actually function.

Her career began in New York City’s public health system, where she entered the field as a temporary receptionist after transitioning from the music industry. What was intended to be a short-term assignment quickly became the foundation of a lifelong career in healthcare, where she gained hands-on experience in hospital inpatient billing, Medicaid eligibility, ambulatory care operations, and behavioral health program support. This frontline foundation shaped her understanding of the structural challenges faced by organizations serving high-need populations. This environment allowed her to grow alongside the evolution of healthcare regulations — from early HMO models to expanding commercial and managed-care frameworks.

Kareen previously served as a Billing Director within New York City’s public health infrastructure and has managed complex, multi-million-dollar program operations and contracts across mental health, housing, and community-based healthcare environments. For more than 18 years, she has specialized in diagnosing and rebuilding Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) systems—strengthening revenue performance while reducing compliance risk.

Her work is rooted in operational reality: credentialing delays, payer rules, denials, EHR friction, staffing constraints, and the day-to-day pressures that leadership teams must navigate. CCS engagements translate that complexity into structure, clarity, and defensible financial strategy—so revenue planning holds up under scrutiny from payers, auditors, funders, and finance teams.

Signature approach: clinic-real, compliance-aware, and leadership-ready—supported by modern reporting and AI-enhanced workflow tools where appropriate.

Supporting Organizational Milestones

Kareen has contributed to the launch preparation and operational readiness of community-based healthcare organizations during critical growth milestones.

Currently, she leads the pre-opening revenue and operational readiness of a new community-based OMH Article 31 clinic in Harlem, architecting billing and EHR system configuration, establishing payer connectivity and remittance pathways, and directing compliance alignment in preparation for the organization’s official ribbon-cutting March 2026.

Her role continues post-launch, overseeing early billing activation, revenue stabilization, workflow refinement, and operational alignment as the clinic transitions into full clinical operations.

This work reflects her continued commitment to helping mission-driven organizations establish strong foundations for sustainable service delivery.

She does not build theoretical budgets or inflated projections. Every model and recommendation is designed to withstand payer review, audit scrutiny, leadership decision-making, and real clinical capacity.

This philosophy serves as the foundation of Claim Care Solutions advisory methodology.

Kareen T. Scott is a healthcare operations and fiscal strategy leader with more than two decades of experience supporting community-based healthcare organizations through compliant, sustainable infrastructure development.

Today, through Claim Care Solutions (CCS), I continue that mission—helping providers and organizations modernize their billing, compliance, and operational workflows with AI-powered solutions and personalized consulting that deliver results. Tell me what you need? What is your biggest problem? Allow me to resolve your issues. This is what separates me from the rest of other companies. I specialize in organizing your biggest hurdles with a step-by-step process.

To CCS Clients:

“My background is experiential. I came up through hospital and clinic operations during a time when healthcare reimbursement was changing rapidly. I’ve spent over two decades in real environments — emergency rooms, outpatient clinics, behavioral health programs, and government-funded systems — building and repairing revenue structures. My expertise is grounded in execution and outcomes.”

A Passion for Helping the Community

Active Leadership & Community Service

Kareen T. Scott remains deeply committed to community wellness, leadership development, and advocacy — serving organizations that strengthen stability, recovery, and opportunity across diverse populations.

She currently serves on the Board of Directors for 1441 Incorporated, supporting House of A.R.M.S., a 24-hour, full-service wellness recovery program dedicated to helping adult men and young adults (ages 18–50) achieve long-term stability. The program provides structured residential support focused on substance-abuse recovery, re-entry services, and mental-health care within a safe and accountable environment.

Through this role, Kareen also collaborates with NPUT — Need People U Trust, a youth-mentoring initiative serving adolescent boys and young men (ages 12–24). The program emphasizes social-emotional development, mentorship, leadership building, and positive decision-making skills that support lifelong success.

In partnership with United Communities Against Poverty (UCAP), Kareen has supported community outreach initiatives providing non-perishable food assistance to local families — helping coordinate the distribution of more than 300 quality meals to youth, adults, and seniors in need.

Community Honors & Recognition

Award for Performance Excellence

Kareen received formal recognition for outstanding leadership, advocacy, and community empowerment during her early career as a 1199 SEIU Union Delegate and Out-of-State Community Organizer.

Her efforts contributed to the successful launch of multiple regional chapters nationwide — including initiatives across California, New Jersey, Albany, Washington D.C., Boston, Chicago, and St. Louis — expanding access to support, resources, and representation for healthcare professionals across the United States.

Building Healthy Foundations for the Next Generation

During the early 2000s, Kareen volunteered with the NYC Food Bank, visiting public schools throughout New York City to teach Pre-K students the fundamentals of healthy cooking and nutrition.

This experience reinforced her belief that wellness begins with education — a philosophy that continues today through Rema’s Kitchen Corner, a lifestyle and community-focused brand centered on food, nutrition, family engagement, and healthy living.

Honoring Strength Through Advocacy

Kareen founded the Think Positively Pink Annual Awards & Dinner in New York City to honor women who embody resilience, courage, and hope — inspired by her grandmother, a breast-cancer survivor.

The inaugural event honored ten women survivors with an evening of recognition, celebration, and community support. Proceeds were donated to local wellness initiatives, followed by a second Harlem-based event supporting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).

Plans are underway to relaunch the event in New York City, continuing its legacy of education, advocacy, and unity through community engagement.

Expanding Community Wellness in Atlanta

After relocating to Atlanta, Georgia in 2021, Kareen worked with a nonprofit organization focused on HIV and AIDS advocacy and community wellness.

During this engagement, she supported operational strengthening and infrastructure development, including:

• process improvement and compliance tracking
• community outreach coordination
• participant enrollment and program navigation
• fiscal reporting and monitoring systems
• implementation of Salesforce, AdvancedMD EHR, Asana, and Bill.com
• facility restoration, property reconstruction, and operational workflow optimization

This work remains one of her most meaningful professional experiences — bridging advocacy, technology, and sustainable operations.

A Mission Rooted in Care, Compassion, and Community

At Claim Care Solutions (CCS), Kareen continues to merge healthcare strategy, technology, and human connection.

While CCS is known for revenue architecture and compliance-aware consulting, its foundation is rooted in service — empowering providers, organizations, and communities to build systems that support stability, dignity, and long-term success.
